About Me

Comments:

I did not do any comparison shopping when I bought this Burley trailer because I was happy with the one I bought 26 years ago. Burley changed the hitch which on the old trailer was one of the its strong points. As I have two bikes, switching between them will cost me another $25 dollars to buy an extra hitch or I will be disassembling the rear axle every time. The rack I added for the trailer seems to be of a lower quality. The instructions for mounting it were very poor. The push buttons to extend and lower the rack for accessing the cargo is very poor quality and hard to work at times. The material at the front has already ripped at the corner. It seems to be a stress point that needs reinforcement. I do like the ease of removing the wheels and hitch arm for storage/transporting. The trailer frame seems to be of a higher quality than the rack.

I bought the Burley Nomad so I can haul food and a beverage to have a picnic at the park and some other things as well. I love it a lot.

About Me

Comments:

Bought mine last year for bike camping and grocery shopping. With an extra hitch plate to switch between trikes easily this trailer has already paid for itself just with grocery shopping. Get exercise and do weekly shopping without using the car. Lightweight and parts are replaceable should something break. Low profile is great with recument trikes. Can't see around taller trailers.

About Me

Comments:

I bought this "newer version" after my "original-American made" one was hit by a "sun blinded drive" & severely broken. (He saw me just before hittling-& braked- only the Nomad hit.) He brought my groceries home- then paid for the new Nomad on Amazon.com ! (I know- "honest folks are hard to came by too!) I like it ok- but miss some of the features not included now. (As: the "full drop" pannels- they were great- when I had my dog-who liked to go for rides ! (Except to the vet- she just tolerated regular check-ups...almost 19 when she passed...) & the "aluminum hitch" (whitch I continue using. The now "steel" hitch is heavier & not nearly as nice looking .). I also would like to see a "stronger & firmer" bottom- so I don't think groceries will come through. (I actually keep a plactic container lid- that's the same size- there-to prevent that too.) I even kept the old wheels & axel harware- just in case-as I don't know about the new model's. They're working fine now- & look nice/simple too. Thanks !

About Me

Comments:

I pedaled my last Nomad to death (May it rest in peace!), and that took me a decade. Now, I am working on my second Nomad, and I can tell already that this one is even tougher and smarter than my last one. Yup -- I love it.
